Can an Underground Dog Fence Adapt to a Unique Property?
Every Capital Region property is different, so an underground dog fence should not be limited to a few preset layouts. We can customize a boundary around driveways, roads, pools, ponds, patios, fire pits, gardens, landscaping, buildings, wooded areas, equipment, and nearly any other place a dog should avoid.
Depending on the property, we may create an interior exclusion loop around a specific feature or configure the main perimeter around it. Customers can also have multiple zones. Our most common example is a front-yard and backyard split, which gives the family greater control over where the dog can spend time.
Custom layouts can even adapt to changing seasons. At one waterfront property, we installed part of the boundary in the water so the dog could enjoy a designated swimming area during summer. We positioned that section where it would remain easily accessible and showed the homeowner how to disconnect and remove it before winter. He could then reconnect the boundary on land, keeping his dog away from the water when cold temperatures and ice made swimming unsafe. The homeowner has already completed the seasonal change successfully himself.
An underground boundary can also complement a traditional fence by protecting gates, openings, or areas where a dog may climb or dig. Exclusion zones can protect landscaping, but they can also keep dogs away from water, roads, fire pits, steep wooded areas, and other hazards. Professional training teaches dogs to understand the main property perimeter as well as smaller restricted areas within it.
Boundaries can be adjusted in the future if a homeowner adds a pool, patio, garden, outbuilding, or another property feature.
You do not need a Hidden Pet Fence system to benefit from this service. We work with all underground dog fence brands, including Invisible Fence® Brand systems. Whether the system came with your home, was installed by another company, or began as a DIY project, we can evaluate the existing layout and help create a solution that better fits your property and your dog.
